NOBILITY;The nobility of Arlezar's five princedoms are a rich, powerful few who rule land. Some titles are unisex - a Prince may be male or female, with their spouse given the appropriate title of Lord or Lady. In addition, there is only one title of "peerage" - Lord/Lady, because the land is not divided beyond the Princedoms into Duchies or Baronies. Lords and Ladies are considered more as tenants of the land, but they do not rely on the entire feudal system by in turn having knight tenants - they employ farmers and the like to work their land. Lords and ladies can be knights, though a military career in the ranks is considered an unfit life for nobility. The land a Lord or Lady owns can vary greatly in size, and the only real indicator of rank beyond the title is money.
